3. (a) Explain the term “balanced diet”. (400 words) (4 marks)
(b) Describe any two factors involved in making balanced diets. (600 words) (3×2=6 marks)
( c) Suggest a balanced lunch menu for a pregnant lady. State the nutrients being
provided by each dish in the meal. (5 marks)
4. (a) List four nutrition-related disorders during childhood. (2 marks)
(b) Describe the : (600 words) (6 marks)

(ii) causes and
(iii) Prevention with respect to any one of them.
5. Define growth monitoring. Explain the use of growth chart for monitoring a young
child’s growth. (500 words) (5 marks)

(b) State two supplementary foods that can be given to a nine month old infant. Also, explain the rationale for the foods that you have selected for the child. (3marks)
